On the road?  Need a quick breakfast or lunch idea?  How about a smoothie?  We love smoothies in our home. A good smoothie can carry you for hours and with the right container, you can take it on the road with you.
Be aware that in the winter, you should limit your intake of cold smoothies, especially if you really feel the cold.  Cold makes you cold, warm things like soup make you, well warm!
So what do you add to a smoothie?  You can use fruit, vegetables, greens, nuts & seeds. We love bananas, kiwi, oranges, pears, romaine, majool dates or stevia for sweetness, avocado and a couple drops of  DoTerra essential oil.   Always try to add a different mixture of nuts and seeds.  Try walnuts, hemp, flax & chia seeds to get your omega 3 fatty acids.  Here are some more ideas and why we use them; Psyllium to avoid constipation, Spirulina for heavy metal detox, Collagen for protein and skin and ligament health and Brazil nuts for the mineral selenium.  To keep it simple, we use ziplock bags in the freezer and make up little containers for the upcoming week.

We discovered a year ago that our “high end” pea-protein powder was contaminated…

We not longer use protein powder.  We discovered a year ago that our “high end” pea-protein powder was contaminated.  It was rated at the bottom of the list out of 50 powders tested.  Check out the quality of protein powder here.  Turns out our protein powder was contaminated with heavy metals like lead and arsenic so we ditched what we couldn’t control.
Feel inspired?  Just stop at a local bulk store, buy a few ingredients and you will have a quick nutritious meal ready in minutes.
